Carers will be supported to understand the principles of observations. Equipped to practically perform observations and record and interpret observations. Further they will be supported to understand when to seek additional help, thus also developing an understanding of legal, professional and ethical issues. Carers will be supported to understand the principles of good record keeping. Understand the legal issues in record keeping and how it affects them.
Staff are expected to have completed their mandatory training which will include the safe principles of manual handling. Armed with this knowledge, further training will be provided around the safe use of the mobility aids that are unique to the client.
